Dad's Birthday Card

Evening bloggers,

Today I am going to show you the card I made for my Dad's birthday. I used the Michael Powell beach huts stamp which I love. You might have seen the card I made before where I coloured the image in greys. I really liked that effect, but wanted to add a bit more colour to this card, so I just added colour to the beach huts to make them stand out more. I used copics to colour in the image - cool greys for the background and B32 and G21 for the beach huts.

I don't think you can see very well from this photo but I also decoupaged the image. I stamped the image three times. I kept the first image whole, cut the second image above the beach huts and cut the third image above the foreground and the boat. I then used foam squares to stick the layers on top of each other.

I also wanted to do something a bit different to an ordinary fold card, so I got a scalloped card and folded the front back on itself.

I was pleased with how it turned out. It made me laugh as when my dad thanked me for it he said it bore a striking resemblance to the one my mum gave him as she also does cardmaking and used the same image!

Thanks for looking and thanks to everyone who has commented on my other blog posts. I always love reading your comments.

Cute Elephant Card

Evening everyone,

I bought this cute Penny Black elephant stamp a little while ago now. I have stamped it and coloured it quite a few times but hadn't actually made any cards with it. My Gran has been unwell so thought that this would be the perfect stamp for a card to cheer her up.

I also wanted to enter the "favourite colour" challenge over at the Crafting Cafe group on facebook. My favourite colour is purple, but when I looked at my stash I realised I actually have very few purple papers so struggled a bit. So I decided to do a bit of recycling - the dark purple is from a cereal box, but I loved the colour so much I couldn't just throw it away!

To colour in the image I used copics and promarkers:

C1, C3, C5, pale pink for the elephant
B32 for the butterfly
Gold, Canary for the middles of the daisies

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Mad for Markers - Anything goes
Divas by Design - Anything goes

Thanks for looking.

Vintage bird card

Afternoon bloggers!

Well it's been lovely weather for most of the weekend here which has made a nice change! This afternoon I have managed to spend some time in my craft room making a few cards which I have really enjoyed.

Here it the card I am going to show you today...

I used the docrafts urban bird stamps for the images and distressed them using walnut stain and peeled paint. I have had the papers for ages - they were from docrafts but can't remember what they were called. I then used a key charm which I hung off a bow at the top right. I really like pinks and greens for a vintage theme.

I hope you like the card and would love to hear your comments.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

That Craft Place - Vintage
Crafty Catz - Animals
Allsorts - Heavy Metal
Simon says Stamp - Animal Antics

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Silhouette Card

Hi everyone,

I realised last night that I hadn't blogged or really done much crafting for the past week so thought I ought to do something about that!! This is the card I have made this evening...

I wanted to do a Silhouette card for Emma's Crafty Challenge but it took me a while to come up with an idea! For this card I used a script stamp for the background and then distressed it using Walnut Stain. I then stamped over the top of this using my Hampstead stamps and black ink and embossed them using clear embossing powder to make the images stand out. I was quite pleased with the result.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by my blog and as always I look forward to receiving your comments.

Hi everyone,

When Docrafts' Boofle products first came out I bought quite a few things as it is a lovely range. I realised the other day though that I haven't used that much of it so thought I would make a few Boofle cards. What do you think?
